Heart City Health Proudly Sponsors Indiana Black Expo – Elkhart Chapter “The Color of Conversation – Social Justice in America”
ELKHART, IND. – On Friday, April 2, 2021, Indiana Black Expo – Elkhart Chapter is hosting “The Color of Conversation – Social Justice in America.” NBA and Indiana Pacer legend Stephen Jackson is the keynote speaker. Friends of Mr. Jackson, including special guest Elkhart’s own Nathan ‘Napalm’ Palmer, will be joining the discussion.
The two-day event is made possible by community partners; KeyBank, Elkhart County Community Foundation, Heart City Health, and the Boling Vision Center.
Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Lerner Theatre Crystal Ballroom, 50 junior and high school students will receive lunch and participate in an open discussion of education, economics, and social justice with Stephen Jackson and friends.
Friday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Elkhart High School East, 1 Blazer Blvd. in Elkhart, Tanya McKinzie, CEO of Indiana Black Expo, will moderate the evening program, which features Stephen Jackson and friends. Local adults and community members can register for FREE at Eventbrite, listed under “The Color of Conversation.” No walk-ins or registration onsite is allowed. Space is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions.
On Saturday, April 3, 2021, the Elkhart Chapter of Indiana Black Expo will wrap up the two-day event with a ‘Grab-and Go’ lunch with residents in Washington Gardens at Noon at 312 Wagner Avenue, Apt. B, in Elkhart.
To finish the day, a FREE Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 3:00 p.m. at 1318 South Sixth Street, Elkhart, Indiana, for all kids, newborn to sixth grade.
