Heart City Health Breaks Ground on Elkhart’s Healthcare Future Medical Center
Elkhart, IN – The groundbreaking ceremony for Heart City Health’s new Elkhart Medical Center marked a leap forward for healthcare in the Elkhart community. With shovels in hand and a shared vision for health equity, Heart City Health’s leadership, city officials, and project partners celebrated the beginning of a development that will improve lives.
Located in the former Sears building, the new state-of-the-art facility has over 50,000 square feet within a shared 100,000-square-foot complex.
Esleen Fultz, CEO of Heart City Health, shared the importance of this milestone:
“Today marks a monumental chapter in Heart City Health’s 30-year journey of providing inclusive, compassionate care to our community. This redeveloped facility will double our capacity to serve Elkhart while ensuring that every person—insured or not—receives the high-quality care they deserve.”
A Facility Designed for Holistic Care
The new Medical Center is designed with the community’s diverse healthcare needs in mind, featuring:
- Urgent Care: A spacious 4,300-square-foot suite to address immediate medical concerns.
- Primary Care for Adults and Pediatrics: Over 11,500 square feet of space with 24 exam rooms, offering comprehensive care.
- Specialized Services: Imaging, physical therapy, chiropractic care, and pain management housed in a collective 12,300 square feet.
- Behavioral and Mental Health: Six therapy rooms and a group meeting space in a 3,200-square-foot area.
Heart City Health is commited to meeting Elkhart’s growing and evolving healthcare demands.
